Are you wondering what to do this weekend? Well, if you are craving something delicious and sweet, then you should try this new strawberry cake recipe. It’s all from scratch, so you don’t have to worry about eating any unhealthy products. The cake might be a little time consuming, but in the end it’s worth it.
Here are the
ingredients needed:
2 cups white sugar
1 (3 ounce) package strawberry flavored Jell-O®
1 cup butter,
softened
4 large eggs (room temperature)
2 3/4 cups sifted
cake flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup whole milk,
room temperature
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup strawberry
puree made from frozen sweetened strawberries
These are the steps to baking the cake:
First, you must
preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C. You can choose to either
grease and flour your cake pans, or butter them. Make sure that it won’t be
easy for your cakes to stick to the pan.
Next, in a large
bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and dry strawberry gelatin until
fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, making sure that everything is mixed
well. After that, combine the flour and baking powder into it; alternate with
the whole milk. Lastly, blend in the vanilla extract, along with the strawberry
puree. Pour the batter evenly into your baking pans.
Bake for about 25
to 30 minutes, in the oven, or until the knife (or other baking needle you use)
comes out of the cake clean. Wait for about 10 minutes for the cake to cool
down. Then, YOU EAT.
There’s something extra you could do, if you don’t want to
by store bought frosting. You can also make cream cheese frosting. If you want
to make the frosting the same color as the cake, you can add a little red food
coloring. That’s optional.
Here are the ingredients needed:
2 (8 ounce) packages
cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter,
softened
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
About 3-5 drops of red food coloring (optional)
Cream together these ingredients, as shown in the same
order. Cool in the fridge as long as needed.
